Upcoming release...and cat tales
Happy Saturday, everyone. I'm late in posting today because...well...it's Saturday, and it's been raining all day, so I've been the ultimate laze-about. :) Hey, we've all gotta have some down time at some point, now don't we?
Anyway, I came fully prepared to remind everyone my new M/M erotic romance, The Professor's Secret Passion, will be released next weekend from Amber Heat. Approximately September 3rd. I'm very psyched!! This was SUCH a fun sub-genre for me to write in. I'm currently finishing up my next M/M story as well, Souls Deep, which will be released in October.
But I digress... Back to my professor...if you'd like to read the blurb and an excerpt of the story, be sure to visit my website at www.mlrhodeswriting.com. And next weekend, pop on over to Amber Heat to pick up a copy! I love hearing from readers, so drop me a note when you've finished and let me know what you think.
Also, while you're at my website, check out my newly updated Hot Hunks Gallery. I added my September hunks a bit early for the fun of it. And be sure to enter my August website drawing! Click the "win things" link to enter.
Okay, so that was supposed to be the end of my post today, but then I got here and I was reading Pendragon's post below and decided I'd share a bit about my cats. I have two. And they have vastly different personalities. You can see pictures of them in my photo gallery on my website.
Merry Midnight is a long-haired, black Maine Coon mix and is absolutely beautiful. She's inquisitive, into everything, and her favorite delight is to sit on the bookshelf in my office with her nose pressed up against my 45 gallon aquarium and watch (er...torment?) my angelfish and clown loaches. She's very prissy and doesn't like to be touched. Unless it's my youngest son...who seems to have some kind of bond with her. If the rest of us try to pet her or hold her, she bites. Yet my youngest carts her around all day long, rubs his face in hers (something I'd never do...not willing to risk having her take out one of my eyes, thankyouverymuch! ;)), hauls her up into his bunk bed with him, and generally is in her face all the time. And she never puts a scratch on him. Go figure.
Mathias, my sweet, darling boy, is definitely king of the castle. He's a gray, short-haired tabby. We adpoted him from a shelter a year ago. Unlike Merry, he's laid back, loves to have his chin and ears scratched, has a secret hidey-hole under my desk where he sleeps when I'm in my office, and either sleeps at the foot of the bed with us as night or in the armchair in our bedroom. But what makes this guy so truly special and amazing is that he's a healer. Yes, you read that correctly. A healer. We call him the Reiki cat. We first noticed it because whenever I would do Reiki, he would come find me where ever in the house I might be. I was certain he probably felt the energy since animals are frequently sensitive to such things. But we quickly realized it went beyond that. Whenever anyone in our house is sick or hurt in any way, he sleeps with them--physically touching them. Either pressed up against them or he does "kitty pushes" on them with his paws. When he does kitty pushes...he nearly always does them in the area of the person's body where they're ailing. And he's not just like this with my immediate family--hubby, kids and I--so it's not just a familiarity thing. My sister came to visit last winter and stayed with me a couple of days. She wasn't feeling well. Mathias, even though he'd never met her before, slept with her both nights she was here. This guy is truly a wonder. I have the sense that he's a very wise old soul.
Anyway, I suspect Mathias would like to meet Pendragon. So, Cassandra, next time Pendragon's out and about and taking a break from his matchmaking, let him know Mathias will gladly share his catnip scratchy box and swap stories. :)
Okay, that's all for me tonight. Back to my writing...
Oh!! Almost forgot, if you'd like to post a comment here or send me an email at ml@mlrhodeswriting.com and share your cat stories or talk about m/m erotic romance, or anything else you'd like, go for it. Everyone who contacts me (either via the comments here at Blogger or via email--be sure to put Blog Drawing in your email subject line), I'll put your names in a hat on Sunday night and draw a winner! The winner can have a free download of any of my currently available stories, or, if he/she wants to wait, they can have a copy of the Professor next weekend!
Hugs,

Sounds great M.L.! Usually I don't read M/M books, but I took a look at your books and they sound great! There are only a few M/M authors that I read. D.J. Manly, Willa Okati, and now currently I'm interested in yours. I'm patiently waiting to see if I have any money left so I can buy one of your books. Professor sounds like a really good book and it has me intrigued. :)
Your new book sounds fascinating. I haven't read m/m stand alone stories, but have read them as sub-plots in other books. This story is definitely on my must-read list.
Thanks for telling us about your cats. They sound amazing.
Cheers,
April
Your new book sounds interesting. I have not read any m/m books. I have read some menages with m/m interaction. My sister enjoys them, however, and has been trying to hook me on them. I will have to tell her about your books.

Hi Becky, April, and Cherie! Thanks about The Professor! I hope you'll all give it a try and that you'll like it! Cherie, thanks for telling your sister! And if you're willing to give m/m a try, all my m/m stories are love stories first and foremost--two people who fall in love. So in that respect, emotionally they're no different than m/f erotic romance. :)

Hey Becky! Congrats!! You were the winner of my drawing. Email me at ml@mlrhodeswriting.com and let me know which of my stories you'd like and what ebook format you prefer! :)

Psst. Mathias! I snuck on here and saw your lady's post. I'm always ready for a catnip party, but you gotta bring the munchies.
Your house-mate,Merry Midnight, sounds hot! You two an item? If not, maybe she'd let me teach her to play a little "go fish"? Meow-wow, kitty! ^*^
Hehehehe!!! I gotta warn you about Merry Midnight, Pendragon. She may look hot, but the girl's got an attitude. She's the dangerous type, if you're into that. One of those gals who likes to dish out a little pain with her petting. :)
