Change
I almost forgot where I was supposed to be today. I glanced down at my calendar as I was writing up a blog for my personal blog and it said "AQP Blog." My heart stopped. I hate forgetting things. That's why I write them down, but lately it's getting bad.
Since I decided three years to commit my time to writing days just seem to fly by. It's amazing how things change when you commit yourself to your passion. I enjoyed being a legal secretary, but my passion has always been the books and writing. My imagination never seems to fail me. Of course, it's always been there since I first was able to form thoughts.
Every now and then I think about what drew me to read and write in the romance genre. Believe it or not I think it's just something that I was born with. Even before I opened my first romance novel, I was playing out romantic scenes in my head. I think it's a brain chemistry thing.
It isn't that I don't enjoy other genres because I read just about anything and everything. But nothing beats a romance for me. I read the non-HEA ones, but my true love is romance with an HEA.
I do have to say this, what constitues an HEA for me has changed over the years as I have changed. That doesn't necessarily translate into "matured," but it does mean I've changed. Life is so complicated, it isn't black and white, and it becomes more so as each day passes.
Take my writing. My first ideas back in high school were very simple compared to my understanding now. Romance and love just aren't that straight forward. So many series on television tend to think the death sentence is when they marry off the main characters. They just don't understand. There so much more that should happen, so many scenarios that can occur between committed lovers.
It's one of the reasons I like to continue on with a set of characters after a story is completed. There's always so much more to tell as the relationships deepen and change and grow. Just as we all do in life. The story doesn't end when someone says "let's get married." There's so much more to experience.
It's why I like writing ebooks and the versatility I'm allowed. I can explore more about my characters and the worlds they live in and the people they encounter. And just like life, these worlds are made up with all sorts of personalities and settings.
Each day I wake up is such a pleasure. Do you know that since I started writing full time I haven't needed to set the alarm clock? That is just so cool. And there are never enough hours in the day to accomplish everything I want to accomplish. It's no longer a question of the day dragging on and on. Every day is just darn fun in one way or another.
I'm looking out the window right now and the sun is shining and the colors are brilliant. I love the fall, it's my favorite time of year.
I'm so glad I remembered to come and blog today. So, tell me, do you have to set an alarm clock every morning to get you out of bed?
Have a lovely day,
Adrianna

Oh most definitely I do! lol Even when I was in school and I didn't have an alarm clock my mom would literally have to stand over my bed and shake me to get me to wake up. lol It hasn't changed much now except that I need to turn my alarm clock up all the way in order to get up. lol :)
I have to or I'll be late for work. *lol* What can I say? I don't do mornings very well.
Set an alarm...you would ask that question. I think it was Monday night, I went to bed at midnight and then awakened refreshed and ready to go. I popped up to make coffee and it was only 1:00. So I stayed up and wrote about three hours.
