It's my birthday and I'll blog if I want to... :)
Okay, that blog title is totally silly and I'm certain not the least original (there are definitely people out there who've used that line!), but I've been dying to say it anyway. LOL!
It is, however, really my birthday...March 22nd. Here are a few tidbits about me you might not know, all birthday related. :)
--I'm a cusp girl--a little bit Aries, a little bit Pisces (although you've probably already figured that out given the March 22nd date).
--I was born during a snowstorm.
--I'm the youngest of three girls and was a surprise. My sisters are eighteen and twelve years older than I am, and my mom was 42 when I was born.
--My favorite birthday cake in the world is black forest cake. Yum!! In the town where I grew up and near where I live now there was (and still is) a German bakery that made the best, traditional, to-die-for black forest cake in the universe. My mom often got me one for my birthday. The same bakery also baked my wedding cake! (It wasn't black forest cake, though, LOL!)
--I got my ears pierced for the first time on my 10th birthday.
--I got my first tattoo shortly after my 32nd birthday.
--For my 40th birthday I bought myself a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I had always wanted one and my 40th just seemed like the right time.
--I share a birthday with Reese Witherspoon, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Marcel Marceau, Stephen Sondheim, William Shatner, and Louis L'Amour.
--Gary Oldman and Matthew Broderick both have birthdays on March 21st, the day before mine, and I love them both!
--The guy I dated in high school and for a short time in college almost shared my birthday. His was March 23rd. (He was my husband's best friend...long story, LOL!)
--For my birthday this year I'm going bowling. Yep, you read that correctly...bowling. I LOVE to bowl! I bowl on a regular league with my two sons and my mom (who's now 85 and you'd never in a million years guess it...she has a higher bowling average than I do!) Anyway, given my choice of whatever I wanted to do to celebrate my birthday, that's what I picked because, truly, I love it. But I'm still debating on whether to eat crappy bowling alley food or go out for Italian afterward. What do you think I should pick? :)
So there you have it...totally useless birthday facts about ML!
Here's wishing everyone a fabulous day!!

Hi M.L.,
Happy Birthday! And have a great time bowling. Years ago, when we lived in Montreal, dh and I belonged to a Weds. night bowling league that was a lot of fun.
Chris
M.L.,
Happy Birthday from one Arie to another. :)
Lyndi / Linda
Thanks,Chris and Lyndi!
You know, I've always loved to bowl, Chris...it used to be one of my favorite "dates" in high school. But I'd never bowled on a league until this past year. And it's too, too fun!! It's a mixed league with kids and adults, and through it my boys have developed a love for bowling like I've always had. And it's always fun to spend time with "Grandma" each week, too. :)

ML,
I looooove to bowl as well and there's no better way to spend one's birthday! But I think you should do the Italian, crappy bowling alley food is only for emergencies, like you've got two more games to finish and you didn't have time for breakfast. Black Forest cake, yum, yum.
Happy Birthday to another March birthday girl. I love Black Forest Cake too, but haven't had a great one in years. Have a fun day bowling, and I'd say go with the snacks at the bowling alley (they are usually wonderfully greasy and salty), then splurge for an Italian dinner.
Congrats on your new release too! Loved True of Heart, and looking forward to reading the sequel.
Have a fantastic birthday and what great fun bowling. Thanks for all the tidbits about yourself. I like getting to know my favorite authors!!!
I am so glad the sequel has been released - been waiting for this because of how much I loved True of Heart!!!!
You share a birthday with William Shatner?! Okay, now I'm officially jealous. *g*
Happy Belated Birthday, ML!
Hugs,
Lacey
