Two dogs, two cats and a bunyip?
If that didn't get your attention I am not sure what will. That's the list of 'critters' appearing in the latest Amber Allure PAX collection that just came out this past weekend, Heavy Petting. To add to the fun, two of the authors got their pets into the cover model rolls in this collection.
My offering is, predictably, one of the dogs. Everyone knows by now that I am a dog lover. I do not have nor ever did have a Dalmatian but Lottsa Spots just bounced up with his tail wagging and told me he was going to be in a story! Pretty soon young Jamie came hunting for him and then I got to meet Grady and Sully. When I found out the two men were fire fighters, I was hooked.
Many years ago when I lived east of Colorado Springs with my husband and kids for a few years, we got involved in a rural volunteer fire department. Although there were a few professional fire fighters who lived in the area and became members to lend their invaluable expertise and know-how, most of the folks were volunteers with little or no prior experience. Still they learned and worked together and accomplished a lot of rescues, dousing of blazes and adventures over the time I was part of the group. Progress and the expanding city has rolled over the area and they now have a regular fire department but I have a certain pride in coming in on the very ground level there when it all started. I put as much of that background into Smoke and ...Spots? as I could!
This is also my first gay romance with a child in it. I saw recently there is a study which has determined that many gay couples make excellent parents. We've seen a bit of this in shows like Modern Family and even Brothers and Sisters. Grady and Sully look like they are going to be right in there. Stay tuned for an excerpt, the cover and a contest!
